About Swiftcab Co-op

O'Brien's Castle,
Cliffs of Moher, Co. Clare

Swiftcab Co-op is a co-operative cab office owned by the driver operators. Established in the late 1990s, it has been a great success, with thirty cars operating from the base.

Located in Ennis, in County Clare, Ireland, the Co-op operates primarily in the Mid-West region, servicing the needs of the county town, its hinterland and Shannon International Airport.

The company was founded by twelve drivers, on the basis that co-operation and a common purpose would be a better business model than their being employed by another firm. From these beginnings, Swiftcab Co-op has become one of the largest cab companies in the county.

In 2003, Clare Cabs incorporated with Swiftcab Co-op and, this year, E.T. Cabs joined the team.
